The thinking partner
your students
didn't know they needed.

Splotch is an AI art companion for high school and college students — the kind that helps you figure out what you're actually trying to make before you worry about how to make it.

Based on everything you've shared — the stillness you're after, the way you talk about light — I keep coming back to Vilhelm Hammershøi. Danish painter, late 1800s.
I've never heard of him. What's his work like?
Quiet interiors. Empty rooms, grey light from a window, figures with their backs turned. Technically beautiful and emotionally restrained — which is actually what makes them so affecting.
That sounds exactly like what I'm going for.

What Splotch does

A companion for the whole creative process.

Find your artistic voice

Every student has something to say through their work. Splotch starts with a real conversation — not a prompt — to help them discover what draws them to art and what kind of work they actually want to make.

Plan your next piece

Facing a blank canvas is one of the hardest parts of being an artist. Splotch helps students think through ideas, materials, and composition before a single mark is made — so they arrive at their work with direction.

Get unstuck, any time

Creative blocks don't respect class schedules. Splotch is available whenever a student needs a thinking partner — at midnight before a deadline, or in the middle of a piece that stopped making sense.

For the teacher, too

You're not in the dark.

When your students are talking to Splotch, you have access to the full picture — conversation histories, emerging themes, and per-student summaries. The kind of context that changes how you plan the next class.

Student data

Built for the trust
schools require.

We know that bringing any new tool into a classroom means asking hard questions about what happens to student data. Here's our straightforward answer.

Transparent by design

Teachers can view conversation histories with their students — and students know this upfront. We believe clear visibility beats hidden fine print. There's no secret channel, just the same accountability you'd expect in any classroom.

No data sold, ever

Student data is never sold to third parties, used for advertising, or shared outside the service. Conversations exist to help students — full stop.

Minimal data collection

We collect only what the service needs to work: an email address, a class section code, and conversation history. Nothing is collected that isn't directly useful to the student or teacher.

Designed for school environments

Splotch is built with FERPA expectations in mind. We retain only what's necessary to run the service, and we're happy to work with your school on data lifecycle and deletion needs.
